Simon Rogerson

Simon Rogerson is Director of the Centre for Computing and Social Responsibility and Professor in Computer Ethics at De Montfort University.
Following a successful industrial career where he held managerial posts in the computer field, he now combines research, lecturing and consultancy in the management, organisational and ethical aspects of information and communication technologies (ICT).
He has published over 200 papers and books including "Ethical Aspects of Information Technology: Issues for Senior Executives", "Strategic Management Support Systems" and "Global Information Ethics".
He is responsible for creating the world's leading reference World Wide Web site on computer ethics.
He has advised the European Commission on Electronic Patient Records and on establishing quality criteria for health information and health care websites.
In the UK he has advised Government on pervasive technology, electronic commerce and electronic voting.
He was the winner of the 1999 IFIP Namur Award for outstanding contribution to the creation of awareness of the social implications of information technology.
He is a member of the Parliamentary IT Committee and a board member of the International Society for Ethics and Information Technology.
