I recently mentioned French journalist Francis Pisani's travels around the world in search of innovation.  Although his schedule was due to take in a trip to Rwanda, he tells me he was unable to travel there and will write from Johannesburg.

One of the recent stories on his Winch5 blog, however, is about ShopAfrica53's Herman Chinery-Hesse, who has been described as the African Bill Gates.

Here is Francis Pisani's blog post on ShopAfrica53, an online shopping mall which acts as an intermediary for small African companies.
